Deleted excerpt from my short story: "Timeless Quandray"

“Why do they hate me?”
“Because you’re different dear, that’s the only reason people hate people. It’s how the world often chooses to deal with dissimilarity.”
Marek spoke up.
“It isn’t culture or societies or the media or anything like that which changes discrimination anymore though.”
Su Li looked at Marek, narrowing her eyes in distrust.
“What do you mean?” She said, her tone stressed with annoyance.
“I’m just saying what decides racism is the times,” Marek said, crossing his arms again looking back outside. Su Li slumped into Hisao’s lap almost lifelessly.
"Well then the times are always wrong."
